We welcome you to Warwick University’s first ever PRIDE festival! #WeAllBelong

Organised in collaboration with the Rainbow Taskforce, Warwick Students' Union, and the Queering University Programme.

What's on?

Join some of the biggest LGBTQ+ performers of the Midlands at Warwick’s first pride festival for a day of fun and frivolities. With the fabulous GINNY LEMON (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK) headlining, as well as food stalls, community stalls, a rodeo bull, fairground activities, photobooth and more. Drag performers, singers, bands, and dancers will be performing on our very own stage, so come and join in with this FABULOUS event!

Anyone from the LGBTQ+ community or allies are welcome, so bring friends and family! #WeAllBelong

Drag Queen, Ibi Profane

Ibi Profane is Coventry’s premier scuba-diving, PhD researching, karaoke singing, non-binary drag artist!

They are as funny as they are filthy, smart as they are smutty, unforgettable as they are… unusual, and you can catch them hosting Warwick University’s first Pride festival!

Josh Aldridge, DJ

Josh Aldridge is Coventry's best up-and-coming queer DJ. With weekly DJ spots at gay bars, he's here to spin some of the greatest camp and dance hits to see you through Warwick University Presents Pride.

Warwick Folk

Warwick Folk

Warwick Folk are a diverse musical collective that play classic and modern folk songs from various origins. From waltzes to jigs, they provide a lively accompaniment to many events on and off campus, such as ceilidhs, open days, festivals, Shakespeare Soc performances and beyond.

Queezer

Queezer

Queezer are a 6-piece indie rock band who came together because they thought it would be funny to create a queer Weezer cover band. After their debut performance playing Sweater Song they found that they loved the music and the group dynamic, so they continued the band. With Rose Bedell (she/they) on Vocals, Callum Hartnup-Williams (he/him) and Sam Rapley (he/they) on guitars, Rebecca Paoli (she/her) on drums, Amber Dayes (she/it) on Bass and Jakub Tucker (he/him) on Saxophone. Drawing from influences like Weezer, Black Country, New Road, and A Country Western, they continue to develop their style and improve their originals, with songs written by all members and lyrics rooted in their experiences with queerness.

Victor Iringere

Victor Iringere is a gay refugee of Nigerian origin, who has lived in Coventry since 2013. He is currently employed by the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre as Social Enterprise Manager. He is also involved in other charities including Out in Cov and The Night Shelter, where he is a trustee. Victor loves to sing and play piano and can often be found in Glamorous Coventry on a Friday night for karaoke.

Drag Queen, CatTina T Styles

CatTina T Styles

CatTina T Styles is an Irish queen residing in Coventry! She is a two-time world cheerleader medalist and the Midland's number 1 drag Taylor Swift impersonator. You can catch her at Glamorous Coventry every Thursday and Saturday, as well as here at Warwick Presents Pride!

Drag Queen, Ferrero Rocher

Who is Ferrero? She is mixed Slavic, she comes from the land of roses - Bulgaria. She's also very spicy and feisty, paying homage to all cultures and ethnic groups, especially minorities, because according to her "everyone needs to be celebrated, no matter their background. The world is a very colourful place and I want everyone to be represented. Is my drag political you'd ask? Maybe, because I believe we all have a place here and now and a voice to be heard. And if I can educate or help least one person with my art, then my job is done!"

Drag Queen, Kayleigh Valentine

Kayleigh Valentine is a dazzling queen ready to strut the stage and bring all things pride to the scene!

Drag King, Raphael Hoe

Raphael Hoe is a drag king looking to make a difference. Being a plus sized king and a trans man, he aims to show people that all bodies are beautiful and unique in their own way. With his unique style of performing, his charisma and charm, he hopes to leave people feeling a little more confident and with a smile on their faces.

Drag King, Tristan Treble

Who's ready for some treble? Renowned as the humble heartthrob of Birmingham, Tristan Treble is sure to win over your heart with his sultry tones and charming personality. Whether it's jazz or Motown, he is bound to leave you with a little swing in your step!

Drag King, Harri Hooker

Harri Hooker Green

He's the Elven Prince of Birmingham! Harri Hooker Green is known for their high energy numbers and camp comedy; a Disney prince in high heels. They're also co-host of Kings N Things, Birmingham's longest running Drag King show which focuses on uplifting Drag Kings across the UK.

Drag Queen, Bambi Bang Bang

Bambi Bang Bang is an elegant glamazon with a sultry, smoky voice. Don’t be fooled by her bubblegum smile and silver-screen charms, this diva has more bad jokes than your drunk uncle at a wedding.
Grab a drink, get comfortable and prepare for a sexy yet silly ride with this singing sensation and her raunchy sense of humour.

Drag Queen, Ginny Lemon

Ginny Lemon

Ginny Lemon is midlands based singer-songwriter, improvisational comedienne, TV personality, character actor and spiritualist. Their work explores the intersections of their working class identity, queerness, disability and taking the piss. Ginny’s distinct acidic wit, aesthetic and unique perspective on life have made them one of the UK’s most celebrated drag and performance artists.

A breakout star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2, they have performed to sell-out audiences across the UK and made several television appearances for BBC, ITV & Channel 4, including The X Factor, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back & Celebrity Coach Trip. Their previous work includes as creator of Ginny Lemon’s Pick ‘n’ Mix resident at the Village Inn, Birmingham, a co-creator cast member for Fantabulosa: A Drag Show For Kids, and recently starred in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony flying in in a giant lemon shaped hot air balloon.

They have just released their second album, Tonic, supported by Arts Council, England.

Trans/Non-Binary Network Wellbeing & Social Event

2:30-5pm in the SU Atrium

Trans and Non-Binary therapists talk self care, followed by making zines together.

Badge-making and Tote Bag Design

2-5pm in the SU Atrium (drop-in)

Join Warwick Pride for an afternoon of crafts in the Atrium, designing your own badge or doodling a unique design onto a tote bag. It's a great way to display your pride at the festival!

Feel free to bring your own bag (or t-shirt) to doodle on, or pick up one of the bags provided.

PLUS MANY MANY MORE! There will be live bands, fairground rides, food and drink... never a dull moment!

Loud and Proud at Copper Rooms!

LOUD and PROUD, PRIDE NIGHT

And the party doesn't have to stop there! Head down to Copper Rooms 2 from 10pm where DJ Craig Law of Gaydio fame (the world's biggest LGBTQ+ radio station) will be selecting some incredible queer anthems for a fantastic night where we can all be loud and proud!

This is an LGBTQUIA+ friendly space. Transphobia, Racism, Ableism, Sexism or Homophobia will not be tolerated. Please be respectful of everyone attending and working at the festival.

Please do not bring glass, bottles, or alcoholic drinks to the festival.

Please wear sensible closed-toe shoes if you'd like to ride the rodeo bull or try your hand at our funfair games.

It looks like the weather will be hot, so please bring your sunscreen and stay hydrated!
